|Sat 24th March 2018||Birmingham and Walsall Trip|
|A trip to see the old and the new in the West Midlands. We first visit the Bartons Arms in the northern suburbs of Birmingham.This magnificent 1901 pub is Grade II*-listed and mentioned in CAMRA's inventory of historic pub interiors. It is of loosely Jacobean style, with shaped gables and a tall clock tower. It serves Oakham Brewery beers and superb Thai food. A short drive brings us to Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter where there will be ample time to wander around this most interesting district and visit the Burning Soul and Rock & Roll breweries plus three Good Beer Guide pubs including the Grade II listed Rose Villa Tavern with its extensive tiling and stained-glass windows. Finally we drive to the Fountain Inn in Walsall, Backyard Brewery's tap and a short walk from the town centre with its further selection of pubs, including two belonging to the Black Country Brewery.|
